In the morning of July 4, 2016, Prof. Cai Jiming, director and doctoral supervisor at the Center for Political Economy, Tsinghua University was appointed as a visiting professor at China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR) with SZU vice-president Prof. Li Fengliang presenting the letter of appointment at an appointment ceremony presided over by Prof. Yuan Yiming, deputy director of CCSEZR, Shenzhen University (SZU). After the appointment ceremony, Prof. Cai Jiming delivered an academic report titled Mixed Economic Theories and Practices to the students and teachers from SZU.

During his speech, vice-president Li Fengliang warmly welcomed Prof. Cai Jiming’s joining and his contributions to the teaching and scientific research undertakings of CCSEZR. He stressed that CCSEZR is a key research base for humanities and sciences of the Ministry of Education and the sole organization of SZU that offers Doctor of Arts degree with profound academic experience while Prof. Cai Jiming has showed remarkable attainments in the field of theoretical economics, therefore, his joining to CCSEZR will provide more guidance on academic researches and inject new vitality to SZU’s social science discipline. In his answering speech, Prof. Cai Jiming expressed that his relationship with CCSEZR began many years ago and he was very happy to transition from an adjunct professor to a visiting professor. He also undertook to fulfill his duties and contribute his share to the development of theoretical economics at SZU.
Following the ceremony, Prof. Cai Jiming delivered an academic report which centered on mixed economy and gave insights into five aspects, including the development overview of mixed economy, composition of China’s mixed economy, theoretical basis for mixed economic system, integration of two major economic thoughts, and axiology in a broad sense. After the symposium, Prof. Cai Jiming answered questions from students present at the symposium.

The symposium was attended by over 30 people, including Wang Yu, deputy director of the Division of Social Science at SZU, Prof. Zhong Ruoyu from CCSEZR, and PhD, graduate, and undergraduate students at SZU. After the symposium, Prof. Tao Yitao, vice secretary of CPC Committee of SZU, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of SZU and director of CCSEZR, meets with Prof. Cai Jiming.
